R&S first encountered one another in
a philosophy class when the professor
asked the bored and quiet "S" what she
thought of the subject at hand. After
her fascinating daydreams were so rudely interrupted, she responded, "Oh just ask
"R," I usually agree with everything he
says. The dumbfounded "R" turned around
to meet the big-eyed love child of Joan
Jett and Sandy Duncan and knew he simply
must get to know this girl.

R&S Media is an art direction and design studio; but more than that it's the creative partnership of Ralph and Sarah, who have worked together since 1999 when they met attending The School of Visual Arts in New York and worked on the student magazine, V.O. They have collaborated on a variety of media projects ranging from magazines and books to film, video and art exhibits.

Sarah Keough spent her early years skateboarding and making little homemade magazines in San Francisco. She ran off at 17 to study photography at SVA in NY. She's worked in publishing since age 13 on a variety of magazines ranging from Yoga Journal to zingmagazine and most recently was the editor and creator of Young Dancer magazine.

Ralph McGinnis grew up in New Orleans, his formative years spent as a ‘quarter rat,’ drawing comics and writing poems in late night cafes. At 26 he moved to New York to study cartooning at SVA. While working on the school magazine he began to purse a career in graphic design. He most recently was the art director of Young Dancer magazine.
