IF I KNEW YOU WERE COMING,
I'D HAVE BAKED A CAKE: NEW ORLEANS
If I Knew You Were Coming, I'd Have Baked A Cake is a traveling art
installation and pop-up shop. The second installment was in November 2014 at PRESS STREET in New Orleans. Using a mixture of local and Brooklyn ingredients, Sarah Keough made food for gallery visitors while they told her stories about meals they'd made or eaten. The project grew out of our fascination with sharing food and stories, receiving unexpected visitors, and forms of money-less exchange.
The shop, organized by Put A Egg On It contained a selection of artisanal food products from Tokyo and Brooklyn and a selection of independent art and food magazines.
